I could name four books and an article in a journal which gives details of how to find the polisher stone. A couple of the books even give a grid reference, but I not going to tell you all which books they are!

I think it is part of the fun going up to Fyfield Down and trying to find it without the use of books, and then the excitement, one has when they finaly get to see it for the first.

A usefull photographic image, which I used to help locate the polisher for the first time was the photo Oof Julain Cope taken at the polisher that is on the back of his Urpagan magazine, for it shows the stone in it's wider landscape setting

Are you trying to shift those unsold copies of Urpagan on the merchandiser page? ;)
I know you're right about leaving it up to the individual to find the stone themselves, but it is kind of frustrating when a visit to Wiltshire has to be a once-a-year trip rather than a weekly thing. I visited in summer and spent a day searching in vain for the stone, chased by cows and attacked by the electric fence at the gallops...
