Hmm, if you were standing by the Northern outlier stone, would you be able to see over the hill to the major standstill then I wonder? (with trees removed of course).

Did you see the 200 year old graffiti on the top of the recumbent while you were there?

hello Chris , quite a common feature is the chocked recumbent , kept the body flat for druidical sacrifice no doubt , blood then filled the cup marks .
I have passed often enough lately but never visited for a while and can't remember the graffiti . Not sure about the outlier even treeless .

You go for the sacrificial approach then? Nothing would surprise me about human history, but I'd not heard of any evidence for this.

I only noticed the carving of dates and initials on my most recent visit some 7 years after the first! I put some pics up on TMA, looks like 1864 and some letters.
