B6054 going west from Owler Bar. There's a layby at SK28537778 just past the stone pumping house thing. Cross the road and there's a gate that leads onto the moor with a decent track heading north. The track is marked on the 1:25000 but not on the 1:50000 map (at least not on my old one). When the track veers northeast stick to your original course towards the cairn which is clearly visible from some distance.
