Neglect and willful damage are as bad as each other. They are both hanging offences in my book :-)
Neglecting to protect a site against willful damage is compound.
You're right, nothing is forever, but when something has lasted for a few thousand years we should do everything in our power to stop it disappearing within just 20!
Tell, you what: I'll go and dynamite it next week and there'll be nothing to argue about. That act is the same as allowing it to be unnaturally eroded only quicker and with less long term moaning.
