why has no-one posted about the nine stones? It looks like a good spot, but no field notes.

I'm pushed for time on a Dartmoor visit, so I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any reason not to go? Wild dogs/sheep?

I've been there Grrrr (sorry is that the right number of 'r's?) and it's well worth a visit.

The description on the 'Mega-walks' site is (as ever) dead right. Stick to the track and you can't go wrong. We didn't and took an hour to find the bugger!

Spotted it on our way back to the car having given up LOL!!!!

It looks pretty easy from the OS map (certainly by Dartmoor standards)

I think one of the strengths of TMA site is that most areas are pretty well covered by us all, but Dartmoor is a bit of a gap. I try to visit the odd one on the way to / from Cornish visits, but would like to spend some quality time there in the future. And with Jeremy Butlers monumental 4 volume series on Dartmoor Antiquities there is no shortage of info out there and sites to see.
