Thats kind of what i thought too, thats why i put it up, but of course it kind of depends where you take the picture from. Im new to the kildare area so will have to check the OS maps and get back to you. From what I know these long stones are meant to be boundary markers but im not sure.

Punchestown marked an empty burial cist. The Longstone (in Longstone down the road) is said to be on top of several buried cists. The landowner told me of when his uncle wanted to bury an old car (yes - it's cheaper than scrapping it) and dug a great big hole where he found some cist like burials. The hole was filled in and the site has never been excavated.
