Searched for over an hour for this tonight and couldn't find it. As the discoverer of the piece there's no doubt in my mind i would have located it if it was there. So it's either been stolen or incorporated into the new adjoining wall, which contains a lot of freshly broken stones.

I'm lost for words at the minute, and i almost brought the second nearby example home with me to stop that disappearing too.

Can anyone offer me one good reason i shouldn't fetch the other nearby (and highly portable) piece home for safe keeping till someone in "authority" decides it's future ?

It's obviously at risk where it is.

Do you think it's possible the farmer may have simply not realised and re-used it? Was it known about (other than in TMA-type circles)?
