Well everything is hearsay unless someone actually saw it being done. And even then they'd need proof to be safe from being sued. I've no axe to grind, the vandalism is outrageous, I'm just putting myself in the shoes of this bloke with a whole town muttering about him, I'd definitely pick a couple of people out, rich ones, and take them to the cleaners pour encourager les autres...

It's impossible to stop people talking. No court will ever be able to prevent speculation.

Personally, I haven't a clue. Some of the rumours I've heard sound plausible, but without knowing more actual facts, I wouldn't be prepared to form a solid opinion.

Yes, and then if you retaliate you're in exactly the same situation as the moron that either hacked or had it caused to be hacked. What is disturbing, from eight million miles away, is what seems to be a strip of bark attached to the top section of the tree. That means that there's a corresponding bare patch on the stump that should have been immediately closed, with tar, even paint, to keep infection out and to prevent sap loss, if it's flowing.

This is what angers me about forums. So much energy displaced through the keyboards, so much endless discussion, and the trees lying there, in pain, unattended. Obviously I am anthropomorphising, but the point is there. And why do people just feed the birds in the summer?
