The two rumours aren't unrelated. However, I won't go into detail, because I don't think it's fair to defame someone on the basis of hearsay.

The sad part (or more predictable outcome) is that the more publicity this gets the more it will become a target in the future. Other than erect an electic fence around it and mount machine guns posts to protect it what else can you do with people who don't give a toss.
