I'm mooching through loads of photos and drawings at the moment looking for fissures being used in Irish RA as part of a motif. I haven't found one yet apart from this and one other in the same area. There are lots of panels where a fissure separates motifs, though. Interesting.

A quick thought. Irish RA doesn't have all that many 'abstract' designs. It's mainly cup-and-rings, which could explain things.
