Otherwise presumably its a scheduled monument so the farmer is breaking the law by failing to protect it. Ring 101 and report it as criminal damage. Ask to be transferred to Wiltshire Police.

Let us know if you get anywhere, if not I'll pass it on to the EH bod in charge of ARCH.

I've seen similar old damage at a few sites, it's unbelievable what some people allow to happen.

Thanks Juamei... I've e-mailed EH with some pics, so hopefully it will be looked into.

I'd urge any local members to go have a visit to the area and keep an eye on this fine monument.

Hey, not just local. EVERYONE! Wiltshire is a paradise for ancient earthworks... not to mention a few stone circles or two!! Quite famous, apparently...

Hey Gladman,

Did you get any joy off the fine people at EH?

Cheers
