It could be earlier but because of the association with the christian rather than the earlier site they may have claimed "ownership" . There is an example of a cup marked rock near Innercochill in Perthhire that has been christianised with a cross with similar long radials . I would have thought the term spiral votive was more appropriate to something with another dimension e.g. a candle holder . Is a Spiral Votive Christain art or could this possibly date earlier?
