Forgot to say ...If you agree that each site has to be taken on its own merits then you don't know what you're talking about in relation to a monument that you've not been to. Furthermore, if you acknowledge that local patterns can exist then you can't apply your vast knowledge of one area/country to another area/country you have little knowledge of. Simple As. :-)
