Hopefully, at least, this incident will raise awareness in the wider community and people will think twice about doing this in future. I know I am being optimistic but what else can you do?

Perhaps they should just wait for the 'Welsh Weather' to get rid of the grafiti in a slower but perhaps less harmful way for the stone?

Not much. Some of that spray paint is sticky stuff CARL – it could take a fair old while for it to come off (sadly).

I don’t know what the answer is (if there is one). Hours and scarce resources can be spent removing graffiti only for it to reappear again a short time afterwards. What to do? Put a fence round a site? That’s not going to keep the plonkers out. CCTV is probably not an option either in a place like that. The only thing I can think of that might help is to restrict the sale of solvent-based paints to minors (though presumably not all graffiti vandals are minors).

I dunno. Jeeze...
