Yup, I'll be back up during the Christmas holidays looking for hillforts, circles and cairns etc. I like it when I hunt about there as not to many people venture this far north on the mainland, preferring to go to Orkney instead. Mite spend a couple of days depends on the music and fitba. You've got lovely scenery up there. Enjoy!

I.m originally from the Grantown area - 2 good fort sites to visit -Tom a Chaisteil and Torran Ban.

I, m hoping to have a look at Cnoc an Duin Hillfort on the old Strathrory drove road soon. This old Drove road has recently been tidied up (2006) but its not that well known or publicised. ie its approx 5 miles long with wealth of Archaelogical interest (look at Highland Councils Historical environment website - probably speaking to the converted here!!)

You could spend a lifetime exploring the lesser known sights in the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire.
