Only trouble is, he added the small rider that building the road over it was fine and our friends at EH have concurred, so what's a poor lay cabinet to do but agree?

(Pardon me for sounding bitter.)

As expected, Hereford Council today agreed a perfect solution to the problem of the Rotherwas Ribbon, a world-unique monument, being in the way of their favourite road scheme.

If you get as far as halfway down you may notice that the only bit that matters is the bit where they mention it involves driving their sodding road over it, just like they always intended.

Nice that they pay such fulsome tribute to EH for facilitating this conclusion. What a bad thing it would have been for the Ribbon without their protective and caring hand.
