The Roman fort is on the crest of the hill just before you drop down to the car park where the icecream van always parks at Highgate common.

Many happy days watching the remote control aeroplanes with a catapult and an innocent look on my face :-)

I watched the same remote control planes, although probably 20 years earlier than you, judging by your apparent age on your photo (unless sheep lanolin keeps you looking young...)

Fw, could you give a more exact idea of the location of the fort - the hill to the West or the East of the icecream place?
There are plans to expand the airport hugely, and we could do with some archaeological treasures on the line of the new runway...
