These ones are hard to tell sometimes. Is it a barrow or is it a ringfort? It certainly isn't *too big* for a barrow - I know of some 150ft across, but those are *very* special ones. If it were a barrow then it's a bloody great big one! So most likely is a fort site or henge. The landscape should give a few hints on that one.

On the same subject, I took no photo but anyone whose been to Poor Lot, did you see the earthwork in the woods next door just to the east? Its a ring bank about 20 metres across, clearly belonging to the same group as PoorLot, but I have seen no other barrows in Dorset with no mound...

Unfortunately its only marked on the Orange map and hence I can't find a link to a map with it on, but very distinctive on the Explorer...
