Just read in Heritage Daily that a team from Reading University have examined Skipsea Castle mound in North Yorkshire and found that it dates from 500 BC and not from Norman times as previously thought. It measures 85m in circumference and 13m in height. Perhaps there are other motes which will be re-evaluated in future and yield evidence of reuse.
I think it's almost certain. Marlborough Mound alone could've been enough evidence to start a serious look at this.

Then there's Droughduil in DnG, belatedly recognised for what it is...and there's a couple more mounds in the forestry currently unexplored, and doubtless thought conical dunes like their neighbour was, but to my eye look identical.
