Have just Googled for 'longest recumbent stone' and, in context of Scottish stone circles, the answer would appear to be Kirkton of Bourtie. According to TMA. Would'nt mind a look myself.

Yup about 20cm longer and set with fantastic views to Bennachie and Tap O Noth etc etc. Barra Hillfort is next door. But for sheer size Old Keig is stunning. You should visit both.

Burl has Bourtie at 5.2 m and describes it as the longest ,which has been oft repeated but Welfare has it at 4.9 m and Old Keig at 5.45m .
I'd plump for Welfare , he spent a lot of time on that book to the annoyance of many .The resulting detail and content is unlikely to be surpassed for generations ,if ever.
