Have to be careful though, there are some rules out there...

"The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) does have specific rules on flying drones, or unmanned aircraft, that limit where the owner can fly the craft.

"Drones cannot be flown over or within 150m of any congested area, over or within 150m of an organised open-air crowd of more than 1,000 people, within 50m of any vessel, vehicle or structure which is not under the control of the person in charge of the aircraft or within 50m of any person except during take-off.

The person in charge of the aircraft must also maintain direct, unaided visual contact with the device in order to monitor its flight-path and avoid possible collisions with other aircraft as well as people and buildings."

Do those rules extend to the Great Wall though Moss?

35 quid for a drone? Is it powered by a rubber band or candle power? :-)

Here's one. It was probably made in China as well :-)

And you can even fly it indoors as well! Bit worrying the 'intuitive' bit, what does that mean?
We'd have to ask Scubi who's probably just spluttered coffee all over his keyboard on seeing that advert. At least I know what LS is having for Christmas now ;-)

40 quid? That's kind of tempting, but it can't be up to that much really for that price, can it?

I am not sure this is up to much, it doesn't look very robust and the range is very limited but when you compare £40 with £500-£1000 (and upwards) it is a real bargain. It might help drive down the price of the more expensive copters so I am all for that.

I think the CAA rules are common sense really and the guidance notes suggested by the seller of these devices more or less concur with these anyway.....but there will always be an idiot or two who spoil it for the rest, so watch this space for further restrictions in the future!
