I like this, you feel like the writer's getting past the surface. I like the way Mr Cope says that if you dress ostentatiously enough people actually ignore you, they ignore you deliberately. And I like the way he comes across as being at that genius / maniac borderline :)

He is incorrigible, a genius and of course an eccentric, AND selling his books pretty well with all these interviews. I can just imagine the small cottage, the stones, wife and children driving past....Also, like a great cuddly bear, even though he looks like a fierce Viking...

I haven't yet read the book - reserve judgment on the genius accolade. Definitely charismatic, certainly ubiquitous at the moment - knows how to get 'good' publicity.
