The meanings that we value the most i.e. those found in relationships , art ,concepts , landscapes are not discarded by science as irrelevant , any more than a post office discards fish as irrelevant .
They are just not the stuff of scientific evaluation ,(although some behaviourists might disagree ) .
Whatever the meaning of the subject of thread , i.e. ceremonial monuments may have for you or I , science is likely to provide a more meaningful explanation for others .
The scientific eyes never glazed over in relation to astrology it’s perfectly suited for consideration , and has been , with an overwhelming rejection of it's claims . “soul” is in the same category as “meaning” ,one for theologians or monty python fans .

Splendidly demonstrated; the soul, an organ with more neurons than the brain and located in the stomach, is classified 'unexplained' and dismissed with humourous contempt. Astrology, an early form of insurance concerning one star, our own, is derided because of the charlatans who misuse it. Science is no different to any other faith based belief system, unable/unwilling to consider anything outside of it's own belief system, which for science is that humanity is defined only by the human brain.
