Yes, exactly. I always thought they were generally accepted as a matter of historical record (even if a biased one). This thread seems to be suggesting that this might not actually be so.

I suppose what I am trying to say is that did they exist as a people, a tribe or community etc or was the tag Druid used just to describe a type of person such as a teacher, doctor, or scientist.
Were they a different people from the Celts and if so were they already in Britain before the celts arrived?
According to a Wiki citation, "not one single artefact or image has been unearthed that can undoubtedly be connected with the ancient Druids."
It also describes them as members of the priestly class but we all know wiki isn't always correct.
