I don't hold with any religion btw. I think it's all very bizarre. ( I'm enjoying this at the moment very much. Some of it's totally mad but if you look up the original text, it is there, albeit minus the swearing

I agree that if you're affecting other people in a bad way with your views, then you should leave off. If people want to quietly pray to a sun god, that's fine, but if they want to start sacrificing people (you know, like the mayans), well, reluctant people at least, then that is where there's no respect going int the opposite direction. Got to have it both ways have you not.
About numbers. I think I meant that if there were only two people practising a certain religion in this country, society would be less willing to tolerate them were they wanting to do something a bit antisocial. Whereas if there's lots of you wanting to (hmm what can we have) oh maybe go round early on sunday mornings playing brass band music in the road as the salvation army used to do down my road when I was a kid = well then you're kind of more expected to tolerate it. So there's some unfairness when it comes to force of numbers isn't there. Besides, if I'd shouted at them to shut up they might have run at me with their euphoniums, it's easier to fight back with a group of you.
