PS:
I made a return visit to the enigmatic Hetty Pegler's Tump (Uley long barrow) today. Now beautifully restored and open - though sadly some idiot has scratched graffiti onto the entrance stone, also inside. Absolutely no reasonable excuse available for such actions.
It's well worth the revisit isn't it? I don't know if you took any pics, but a flash or torch reveals a lot of graffiti on the undersides of the roofing slabs as well.
I did take some photos, the ones inside the main chamber came out quite well with the flash. I own up to the fact that I didn't go right inside as I genuinely suffer from claustrophobia, so just crouched down in the entrance. I'll post a fieldnote and a couple of photos later (externally the barrow was an oasis of wild flowers and insect life).

We went in May (detour on Cotswold Way) and it is great to see it back open. Once inside the initial crawl under the lintel, it opens up to a greater height and light filters inside - except in the side chamber, it was pretty much pitch black in there even after we'd been inside for a while.
