Not sure who the ‘masses’ are (though aren’t they one of the groups of people that English Heritage are supposed to be serving ;-)

This thread has drifted into Silbury though and maybe we should start talking about sacred sites and objects specifically, and the reasons why we shouldn't climb them. Seems like the biggest offenders of climbing Uluru are the Japanese. That doesn’t surprise me in the least, but the reasons for them and others doing it is interesting....

Personally i'm more interested in what makes a site "sacred". For me Silbury is rightly protected under law, but sacred ? Sounds bollocks to me.

Anyway, off to band practise. :)
