I disagree entirely (you’d be surprised at who actually does read this forum) and by continuing to raise certain issues attitudes have changed and battles have been won. An example of the latter was the abandonment by English Heritage to place a time capsule in Silbury. There is no doubt in my mind that was achieved by the thread on TMA dealing with the issue (as well as a little help from Lord Avebury :-)
That's a completely different situation. We're not talking about English Heritage - we're talking about The Masses. Now if people were repeatedly starting threads with the intention of encouraging EH to do something about unrestricted access to Silbury, then that'd be fair enough. I'm pretty sure we had a discussion a while back about how people could be dissuaded from climbing the hill? Maybe revisiting those ideas and discussing them would be more productive than regurgitating the same old arguments about whether it's right or wrong and who climbs it and who doesn't climb it and who used to climb it but doesn't now except on Sundays.
