Mick Aston - RIP

If only there were more people like him on telly. I never met him, but I suspect if I had I'd be making a comment like "If only there were more people like him in life."

I'll miss his friendly personality, his humour, his intelligence, the way he came across as an expert without being arrogant, and lastly, but not least, by the way he made archaeology nice. By nice I mean just that. How many people who previously viewed archaeology as boring, out-of-reach and dusty were turned around by his special way of coming across, and his sense of fun.

They broke the mould when they made Mick.
RIP,
TE.
