And a midge net hood !
Yeah that's the biggest downer wae the outdoors in Scotland. Cheers!
Am heading up that way in mid-May and plan to be outdoors a lot. I've read about the midges so have bought a bottle of Avon 'Skin So Soft' spray via the internet - it apparently works because it contains Citronella. Costs about £2.50 (plus postage).
Never heard about that one. I work in a camping shop and the repellent we sell is deet based but supposedly the midges are getting immune to it. So I might take some Avon along tae. Ta
Yeah, but it's hit and miss, works for some not for others.
You'll smell lovely though...Avon calling! :-)
Aye! Nice bonus! Ha
My problem with SSO is it makes you feel clammy, and you have to really slop it on to have any effect. Guess it's gotta be better than Deet, which is so fucking powerful it actually melts synthetics !
Typo, should have wrote SSS. :)

We used Wilma's Nordic Summer Midgie Repellent last year and it seemed to work quite well. It's quite expensive but it lasts a long time. This is the first seller that came up when I googled it but there are probably others, maybe cheaper:

Smells nice too! And you don't look quite as slimy as when you use Skin So Soft!
