"I learn only to be contented."

"That could be interpreted in two different ways couldn't it? i.e. "I'm learning/studying just because it makes me content." Or "The only thing I'm learning is how to be content."

It could be, though in the (Zen) Buddhist context it probably means, “I learn only to be contented.” A bit of ambiguity is fun though. The following found on some old sundials in the West -

Horas non numero nisi serenas. “I do not count the hours unless they are bright.” :-)
