i must admit i haven't come accross one for a long time, (like 20 years!).
I wonder what they do now, mind you they all seemed close to retirement age back then (but so did anyone over 30 back then!)
I have noticed the park in Inverness seems to have its gates open most of the time now, when ever i go back. Who's going to tell the children to get of the swings once they pass age ten years ( the most common parkie shout as I remember)? ;)

Beautiful St. Stephen's Green in the centre of Dublin still has an army of parkies! Complete with blue uniforms and peaked caps. They are the biz!

STand and chat to some of them every morning whilst feeding the ducks (MY ducks! not that infernal old bag's ducks who sometimes beats me to them and fills them up!) on the way to work.
