In the Library I work in we have Bristol collection i.e. historic books about Bristol. Any hows I came across some old photo's of Redland park which is a park I personally know well .

As I was going through these old photo's of victorian gentlemen sat on big stones which looked like fallen standing stones.....this played on my mind a little so I went a wee walk up to see if there was any real evidence of past stone circles there? And fecken hell right in the corner of the park was this great big standing stone on its side hidden in a far off corner of the park that I had never noticed before!

Do any of you stone heads know of any destroyed circles in the Bristol area? I did mention this to some old geeza in a pub and he said that there was 3 stone circles in Redland park before the Victorians destroyed um! Could this be true? or was I just dreaming!

If you can get hold of an old map of the area it may tell you more (even a modern ordance survey map might have it marked as a feature). alternatively ask the parkie!( if there is one)
