While I agree with you in part, I think there's a vast gulf between modern buildings and what we have at Avebury. We often know very little about the more recent buildings because they mainly don't have the same interest for us. Moving backwards in time from the more recent past, I'm not the remotest bit interested in the Roman period for example but am fascinated by the Neolithic so go out of my way to continue to listen and learn.
