I was wondering about maybe putting together some kind of data base with all know and suspected alignments.

Do anymore computer savy users here have any ideas.
Just something simple
Set up a table

Site name / Country / Grid Ref / Time of Year (eg Winter Solstice) Confirmed / Suspected

It would need to be easy to access and edit for users but would probably require a moderator.

Would it maybe possible to incorperate it as part of this website?

Interesting idea. We'd have to agree on accuracy; to half a degree, one degree, so on.

How about if you start a new thread (for the moment) and call it Megalithic Alignments or some such - like Megalithic Poems, Megalithic Art. Then let people enter the ones that they know, with each title carrying; site name/county/country/time of year (event).

Inside the message they could have grid ref + declination if available(quoting reference) or personal observation if that is the case.

eg.
Title:
Drombeg, Co. Cork, Ireland, Winter Solstice

Inside Message:
Grid Ref: W 24670 35159
Declination: -23.0 (Ruggles, AiPB&I etc., 217)

Fantastic idea - I think that could be a good website to set up in it's own right...well for all us nerds.

it seems we're drifting off message - some are into compass directions rather than alignments, and of the latter some 'looking' from sites to other sites [and features] and yet others sightlines to astronomical phenomena ;-)
