Are cross incised stones types of ogam/ogham? So to answer your question, I don't have a clue but like a lot of things in this forum I don't understand it's good to find out about them,
Thanks for answering, I'm interested in how many pre-christian symbols have been absorbed into what came later. The 'sun-wheel' seems very prolific in so-called 'celtic christianity' (pre-roman).

This Wikipedia site has a section on the Stone/Bronze Age and it seems the symbol was around.

The equal armed cross has been a pagan symbol in a great many early cultures, even when it isn't an ogam. I think its just coincidence the ogam for a-ailm is a cross, all the ogam are straight lines crossing a fixed lines, one to five, crossing one side or both, straight or at an angle. On the stones the meridian line they cross is the edge of the stone.

Usually thought to represent the sun divided into four by solstices and equinoxes.

Hoping to get signed back to work today, so less stonehead-bothering from me!
