There's a little stooping involved as the curvature means I can't quite stand up straight.

In practise your not actually gonna spend a long time stood up anyway are you, just stick a deckchair in as you'll mostly be sitting.
As long as the tent has a decent amount of height i think he'll be fine.

I must say I think it's nice to be able to stand up...

I'm quite tall so find this a near impossibility in most tents! My mate lent us one for the last festival we went to. He has a tendency to get tents at least 3 times bigger than he needs, so for me, it was the first one I could comfortably stand in!

Can't find any links to it, but it was a pretty standard and easy-to-put-up dome tent with a fairly sizeable awning bit for cooking etc.

Admittedly it seemed massive compared to what I'm used to, but I think I'm a convert now! ;)
