A while back someone mentioned a book - Megalithic Jordan - on here (I can't find the original post). My copy arrived a while back.
It's a nice little book. It has a typical field guide layout - essay followed by gazetteer. The first section is well written and refuses to speculate in the light of limited archaeological evidence, although it does mention possible theories. The gazetteer has long/lat positions.
The essay section goes into the history of investigation across the Levant and mentions dolmen fields from Turkey to Saudi.
What is very clear is that the gazetteer is not comprehensive. What is equally clear is that a comprehensive gazetteer to all the dolmen fields in Jordan would weigh about 3 tons !!!!
A map would have been nice. Pictures are colour. The bibliography is good. Postage is almost prohibitive, as it was almost as much as the book.
If you're going to Jordan this is a great little book to start with.
