Google earth is as good as it gets with online pics of Tyneside. There is a series of 1940's aerial shots that are supposedly good for seeing cropmarks. Like the now destroyed henge in North Shields, apparently it was still visible in the 40's, but not recognised until after it's destruction, when it was spotted on these wartime photos.I think Tyne and Wear museums know how to get access to the photos, try asking them.
