Jesus in Wessex

it seems fair to say that in order to gain respect from people jesus would have had to have done something out of the ordinary - like travel round the known world as a merchant or a sailor. Theres a popular myth that he went to tibet and gained ancient wisdom- Christians have always been into the idea of pilgrimage to places like St Andrews, Iona, Glastonbury- i wonder (wander) where that comes from? maybe he went around getting into trouble before seeing the error of his ways. Maybe he was largely unknown and unpopular in life but suddenly became really big when he died- which may have been less about what he was and more about what people wanted him to be

....I think the water into wine thing would command my respect but realistically i dont think that happened
