The dog (Rex) and I am planning a trip to the Bodmin area of Cornwall in week or so's time.
Was just wondering what you guys think are the most photogenic sites to make special trips to based on your experiences of the area.
I will be there for 6 days so plenty of time to get about and look around, though access issues should be taken into consideration because the hound (won't want to lhave to eave him in the car!!)

Thanks in anticipation

The obvious ones are the Hurlers and Trethevy Quoit. The Trippet Stones and King Arthur's Hall can make good pictures too. Mr Hamhead (as ever) can give a definitive answer on this one - he knows the moor very well.

It really does depend on the weather in that part of the country though. Mist can move in very quickly with very little warning.

I'll be down that way myself on the 13th this month - but a bit further down, in West Penwith.

As occifant says but also go a little further south to Duloe well worth the visit, i also went to Stanton and the lost vallet whilst down there on holiday check out some of my pics for a taster.

The landscape around King Arthur's Hall is fantastic.

Off topic, but try Tintagel Castle and the walk up the camel from just outside Bodmin - the dog will love it!

Thanks for your input to my query guys, I have checked out all the sites you have mentioned on TMA, all of which look great.
Looks like I will be based more towards Redruth now but as this is more central to Land’s End as well as Bodmin I think it will be quite useful.
I have come up with what I think are the top sites to go to mainly because they have easy access (not in any particular order).
Lanyon Quoit
Chun Quoit
Trethevy Quoit
The Hurlers
Nine Stones of Altarnum
Duloe
Boskawen-Un
CarnGluze
Treen
Nine Stones of Boskednan
Merry Maidens
Trippets
Pipers
Men-An-Tol

Others I am interested in trying to get to, if I have time and access, are:
Brane
Chapel Carn Brea
Tregeseal
Inulfra Quoit
Zennor Quoit
Pewton Quoit
Lesquite Quite
King Arthur’s Hall
Stannon

I think that should keep Rex and me happy for a week and I will be interested in any comments you may have on my selection

Wychburyman, I will be trying to get to Tintagel Castle and will try out the walk you mentioned, it looks great on the map.
If your down that way Ocifant (or anybody else) and you want to meet up then let me know.

maybe check out Spinsters Rock if you're heading down the A30. It's only a couple of miles from the Whiddon down junction and makes a great place to break a journey heading down to Cornwall

And if your based in Redruth you might want to check out some of the local sites such as nine maidens (carnmenellis) stone circle, Burras menhir Prospidnick menhir, Eathorne menhir, Pixie hall fogou (constantine area) all well worth a visit as well as the host of sites on the lizard. I think Halligye fogou is open till the end of the month. Photogenically speaking you get fantastic sunsets over the lizard especially Goonhilly area.
Have fun- sounds like youre going to have an exhaustive itinary

Just got back to sunny Wiltshire after a absolute corker of a week in Cornwall. It was a bit of an adventure, being the first time Rex and I have been on such a trip for such a long period of time.
The number of site I visited was mainly limited by the number of photo's I could take and the amount of time I got lost looking for places.
I must get one of those GPS/map thingy's like Ocifant - it might improve my timebetweensites factor that slowed me down so much.
Talking of which, thank you Ocifant and Mr H for a great day out last Sunday, I am truly grateful. I saw a lot, learn't a lot and by golly walked a lot and we both slept well that night I can tell you. It was a pleasure to meet you both.
