Why are we here?

The yoga of service

I'm here for the stones (man).

I like all of the aspects, some more than others, but I'm afraid I lurk far more than I write.

Zealots of any persuasion do tire my patience though.

And someone has to check that what is on the ground matches what the 'proper' archaeologists say is there, bring to light new stuff and what has fallen between the cracks (like newspaper accounts that disappear because instead of paraphrasing in order to complete their records they simply re-iterate the mantram "copyright issues", or sites that miss through failure of categorisation).

And to all those officials that say we can't publish before they do I have come across too many accounts from the 1920's and earlier where little is told because it will all be written up fully later, and mostly they still haven't ! Future archaeology needs us now.
