In contrast to this morning it's been very quiet so I happened upon this:
http://www.google.co.uk/books/pdf/Archaeologia_Cambrensis.pdf?id=X8A1AAAAMAAJ&output=pdf&sig=XEgLf3N2RmTeIBHF_jrv2eEzWIk
It's page 208 you need - they're the spit of the spoons from the Locksbrook. Ffynogion is at SJ129561 and they seem to say the spoons were south of there - wot is right next to the Avon Clwyd, so a watery connection again.
ooh and googling I now see these, which are from Berwickshire
http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue/adsdata/PSAS_2002/pdf/vol_058/58_143_160.pdf
and has diagrams of lots of other ones found - such a geographical spread! but then I guess stone axes travelled a long way too.
yeah yeah this isn't a personal messaging service about 'might be Iron Age' relics. apologies. but if they're really Early iron age, that's pretty interesting and relevant to the website.
