Red Flint

I've gotta admit to not spending much time on Cumbrian beaches... and the galloway ones usually just have those nice but predictable flat sedimentary slabbettes varying from greyish blue to pinkish orange.

you occasionally get some with quartz intrusions, and the odd nice pale granitey pebble, but never recognised anything as being flint. I'll have to go back very soon to have another search ;)

As promised.

The red flint.
The tool in the middle is a purple flint, unfortunately my photographic skills are not good enough to fully capture the colour.
The coin on the end is not prehistoric but never the less is a very beautiful object which has a value of two new pounds
