On my first visit Avebury really got under my skin, made me think so hard about life that it threw me off all my other interests for about three months.

It's now our annual Summer getaway, and we too get withdrawal from the Downs.

Locally, I do feel the need to visit the Cumbrian circles fairly regularly too.

Some places more so than others, either because of the atmosphere they generate or because of people I was with on previous visits.
The condition of the site does always dictate this either. I have visited Stonehenge twice but Avebury countless times.....but maybe thats because they charge to get in :o)
