Does the correlation just go to prove that metal detectorists are stupid people who have a very narrow view of life and no understanding of the impact they have on other people and the world? that would make sense wouldn't it. You probably can't comment, Nigel, or they'll sulk and refuse to speak to you.

"Does the correlation just go to prove that metal detectorists are stupid people who have a very narrow view of life and no understanding of the impact they have on other people and the world?"

Yes Rhiannon, that was precisely the point I was making, nothing to do with politics per se, just that the political leanings were indicative of how so many of them were pretty thick.

Its a point that that PAS makes a virtue of in its successive annual reports, highlighting that 46% (I think it is now) of its clients are from social classes D and E (and rising). And David Lammy, who came from very humble beginnings on a problem estate is very big on pushing "inclusivity" as well.

I'm really not a snob, I have more than a little D and E in my veins, but I do think that a finite resource ought to be in better hands. Lammy's obsession with equality of opportunity has led him to open the past to exploitation by those who didn't oughta.

"You probably can't comment, Nigel, or they'll sulk and refuse to speak to you."
As you see, I'm beyond that stage now and am free to say the emperor has no clothes and is ugly to boot.
