Greetings, folks.
After years of fieldwork, searching for / re-discovering megaliths that had lain forgotten for ages, some big mates have finally finished their cataloguing of the Basque megaliths (specifically Nafarroa, as Gipuzkoa was covered a few years ago, its megaliths published and neatly signposted). Loads of info had been available for some time now in the form of chaotic lists, dodgy military maps and reference numbers, but as more and more sites were brought back into the light and so many were being discovered it was always clear that the picture would change as the years went by. All of this is also luckily approved of by the government of Euskadi, who are now publishing many of the publications and catalogues on the web.
So I thought I might share with you the precious monography by X.Penalver about the Northern Iberian cromlechs, perhaps the most photogenic kind of monument, i.e. the stone circles of the Basque area.
Though your knowledge of euskera may be non existent, I recommend downloading the pdf if only for the photos.

There are now even websites being devoted to the area's megaliths, though they are still being created as we speak.
