Yes, I often find my pictures used by other people who have nicked them off my website and think it's OK to use them with asking me or giving me a picture credit or a link. Bastard thieves!

The worst ones are the ones that point their code at your website, so you end up hosting the damned picture for them too. This website is currently doing that: http://www.myspace.com/tencc
See the first photo? That's mine. And if you look at the properties, I'm frigging hosting it for them! I have emailed them to give 'em a chance to 1.apologise and grovel, and 2. remove it themselves, but so far, no cigar. So tonight I'll rename the pic and break the link.

It's scary how much Rick Fenn looks like Chris deBurgh!

After you rename the image don't forget to replace the photo with one that says "Thieving Bastards!" on it :-)

When megalithomania relaunches next week deep linking will be prohibited from all but a select few external websites.

My answer to remote linking is to replace/rename the original with something else, most of the time the user isn't aware of the change for ages. I once got banned from a forum when I changed one of my million home-made gifs to one that said "I couldn't be bothered to ask so I stole this avatar off slumpy". I didn't know the guy was a high-powered mod, so my life was short-lived, but it stopped anyone else doing it.

bad enough to be ripped off but to be ripped off by a 10CC fan website is just beyond belief - *shudder* ;-)
