An associated question please.

Am I legally entitled to paint images that are on the web (as accurately as possible) and then sell them?

(Not ones from here or of megalithic subjects).

Unless you change it significantly, a straight conversion from pixels to paint would be in breach of copyright.

Nigel - I was once told by a card manufacturer that 'there should be at least six significant changes between your own and the original image for it to be deemed safe and not a direct rip off.'
