Face of Britain

ooh I've not heard of it but it sounds interesting. I'm sure we're all a bunch of mongrels. It would be interesting to get your dna tested like that. I mean you tend to think people in the past didn't move around much but even doing a bit of Victorian family history on my family they were moving about all over the country. I guess there are always those families that stay in one village forever and still do. They found that chap who was related to the prehistoric man from Cheddar Gorge and he didn't live so far away! what a thrill though.

It's really interesting stuff - the dna profile of the British (and the shape of their faces) does change in line with recieved wisdom about "celtc" areas and "saxon/viking" parts, but we all have loads of stuff in common in our dna that pre -dates the "bronze age".
I really love this stuff - me and Mrs Wiggy have done a fair bit of family history research, and yr right, there was more movement around the country than people tend to think.
